Clarence Elder
Lexington -- Clarence Hubert Elder, 85, of Dune Acres, Ind., formerly of Lexington, died Saturday (May 7, 1988) at St. Catherine's Hospital, East Chicago.
A memorial service is at 5 p.m. today in Dune Acres. Interment will be June 11 in Lexington Cemetery. Musselman-Moore Funeral Home, Lexington, is in charge of the local arrangements.
He was born March 17, 1903, in rural Lexington, a son of Clinton and Ann Rowlands Elder. He married Mary Louise Dixon July 16, 1928, in Minnesota. She preceded him in death. He married Kathryn Washburn on June 28, 1987, in Indiana. She survives in Dune Acres.
Surviving are one son, James, Hinsdale; one daughter; Janet Morse, Kailua, Hawaii; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Elder was a graduate of the University of Illinois School of Engineering and was employed by Bell Telephone Co. as an electrical engineer.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
