Brewster, Willie Owens-65, of West Oneida, passed away Wednesday evening, June 10, 1987, at the Scott County Hospital following a lingering illness. Mrs. Brewster was the daughter of the late Willis Owens and the late Maudie Davis Owens and was also preceded in death by one son, Clarence Dwight Walters; her first husband, Add Walters; her second husband, Conellon Smith; three sisters, Cordelia Owens, Martha Owens, and Lillie Lee Smith; one brother, Narcissus Owens; four step daughters; and three stepsons; one grandchild; and one great grandchild.

She was a longtime member of West Oneida United Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted at the West Oneida United Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13. Burial was in the Opossum Rock Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida was in charge of the arrangements. (Source: West Union Association of United Baptists Minutes, 1987, p9-10)
