Opal LaVerne Blalack Beard age 91 of Oklahoma City died August 29, 2009. She was born to John Dison and Nettie (Wilson) Blalack June 29, 1918 in Wilburton, OK. Opal married Charles Kenneth Beard, June 29, 1937. They were married for 62 years when he died October of 1999. She was a good neighbor and friend to everyone and was a fine Christian lady. She enjoyed traveling in their Air Stream over the U.S., fishing, the cabin at Lake Eufaula and Square Dancing. Opal loved her church family at Bethany First Baptist. She is survived by a sister Charlotte Christine Barker, nephew, Terry Barker and many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Opal was preceeded in death by her parents, husband and brother J.O. Blalack. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday Sept. 4th at First Baptist Church of Bethany with burial in Bethany Cemetery.
