Marion Agnes Abbott, age 81, beloved wife of the late Albert J. Abbott, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 2, 2009, in her Fairfield home. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of the late August and Mary Banyar, Mrs. Abbott had been a Fairfield resident since 1961. As a child, she performed as a professional pianist. A graduate of Notre Dame College of Ohio, she was employed as a high school teacher prior to raising her family. Marion loved to travel, especially to England and Ireland. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church since moving to Fairfield. Survivors include her cherished son, Tony Abbott and his wife, Dolores of Trumbull and her two granddaughters, Jane and Lucy Abbott, also of Trumbull. Marion was predeceased by her first son, Richard P. Abbott, in addition to her husband Albert. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Fairfield. Interment will be private in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may call Friday (today) from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
