Nora Cornettie Garren is the daughter of Alfred Washington Garren and Julia Iowa Whitaker. She was born in Andrews, Cherokee County, NC on February 25, 1876.

She married Elbert Wade Pulllium November 14, 1895 in Cherokee County, NC. They were married by J. A. Kimsey, JOP. They were the parents of seven children, Bessie, Fannie, Bertie, Winslow, George, Vinson and John Pullium.

Nora and her husband raised their family on their farm in Andrews. Nora was a homemaker, she helped her husband do whatever needed to be done on their farm. She canned and preserved most everthing they grew in their garden. She also handmade some of their clothing and made beautiful quilts.

Nora and her family attended Valley River Baptist Church. She raised her family in a Christian home and taught them to always respect others and to work hard. She also encouraged them to get a good education.

Nora was 70 years old when she passed away at her home in Andrews on June 11, 1946. She was laid to rest in Valley River Cemetery on June 12, 1946.
