Samuel Worth Gribble, 106, of Bettendorf, Iowa, formerly of the Palmer Hills Retirement Center, Bettendorf, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at the home of his niece.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Graceland Cemetery, Mineral Point, Wis. Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gribble was born Oct. 8, 1898, in Linden, Wis., son of Samuel and Margaret Moeller Gribble.
He married Helen Wiesen in 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa. She died Jan. 26, 1995. He graduated from Linden High School.
He had been a member of the Students Army Training Corps during World War I, stationed in Madison, Wis.
He had been vice president of the Pueblo Savings and Loan Association, Pueblo, Colo., and retired as a traveling auditor for the Colorado Fuel and Iron Co., Denver, Colo. Mr. Gribble was a 32nd-Degree Mason and was the Grand Lecturer of the Southern District of Colorado. He was a member of the N.R.A. Survivors include a nephew, Ronald Paaske, Hillsdale; and a great-niece, Joan ``Joni'' Paaske, Bettendorf.
