His death certificate (with his wife as the informant) says that his mother was "Merinda Deal". It lists the cause of death as malarial fever.

By all accounts, Blenty was a kind and gentle man.

A.B. Middleton, native of Long County died at his home at Odum Tuesday after an illness of one week of malaria.

Mr. Middleton was the son the late H.H. Middleton and had spent his life in Long and Bacon counties until he removed to Odum. He was 50 years of age.

The funeral was held at Middleton Memorial Church yesterday afternoon, the rites being conducted by the Rev. M.A. Murray.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Harold, Henry, and Marion, three daughters, Misses Gertrude, Mildred, and Lucille, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Davis, all of Odum and two brothers, G.B. Middleton and W.H. Middleton of Ludowici.
