John W. Abbott is only three when his father, Jeremiah dies. He is raised by his mother and step-father, William White. John farms all his life. On the 1880 census he works on the farm, and is living with his mother and step-father. By 1900 he is farming at Josephine Brock's place and is still there the last year of his life. Josie is his second cousin for both are great grandchildren of Walter and Janet ( Stuart) Brock. He never married.
