According to Hazel (Edmondson) Griswold's father, A.G. Edmondson, he told her that the 2 graves in the pasture were 'old man Prince [Chelsey D. Prince] and his granddaughter Vandergriff'. It is speculated that the farm C.D. is buried on was his originally and the Edmondson family, Robt. A Edmondson, married into it through C.D.'s daughter Mary Caroline (Prince) 'Vandergriff' Edmondson. C.D. Prince married Agness Barnett on Oct. 18, 1838 in Hall County, Georgia.
Chesley was a Pvt. in Capt. Rolen Bearden Company of the 2nd. Georgia Mounted Vol. during the Indian Wars 1837/38 in particular Seminole Indians in Florida. He was injured in a fall during a battle and broke his breast bone. This according to a pension his wife submitted Oct. 22, 1892 in Murray County, Georgia.
