Mrs. Gentry was born August 25, 1935, in Three Rivers, Texas. She passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Gentry was retired from the Angelina County Adult Probation Department, where she had worked as a probation officer. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was very devoted to her family.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Ray Leslie (Sonny) Gentry of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Thelma Jeanne and Robert Roddy of Lufkin and Janice Marie and Mike Rodriguez of Florida; daughter, Latisha Lea (Gentry) Hedrick of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Ray Leslie, Jr. and Carol Gentry of Florida; stepson and wife, Richard and Connie Gentry of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Huggins of Houston, Fred (Buddy) Huggins of Lufkin and Morris and Trish Huggins of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Carver of Hudson and Frances Aileen and Rufus Luna of Beckville; sister-in-law, France (Gentry) Duke of Lufkin; grandchildren, Joseph Marsh, Jonathan Marsh, Kathirene Roddy, Erika Gentry, Joshua "Tiny" Gentry, Jacob Gentry, Sonny Gentry and Tyler Gentry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
