Graveside services for Monroe Clyde Davis Sr.. 69, of Pass Christian, Miss. were held Jan 14, 2006, at Cottonwood Cemetery in Wylie. Dr. Dan Rainey officiated.
Mr Davis died Jan. 7 at Dixie White House Nursing Home in Pass Christian, Miss. after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 11, 1936 in Blooming Grove, Texas to Bruce Monroe and Betty(Compton) Davis. He was a retired mechanic and had lived in Houston, Austin, Big Springs and Wylie before moving to Pass Christian, Miss.
Survivors included his daughter, Betty Davis Schmitz; three sons, Monroe Davis Jr., James Davis and Billy Davis; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janette Davis; daughter, Lawanda Davis and great-grandson, Jacob Eaves.
