He was born on October 30, 1925, in Oberlin and was the son of the late John J. and Katie Mae Bryan Housman
Ben was a retired meat cutter at the former Food Fair and Pantry Pride, Lower Swatara Township.
He was a member of the Neidig Memorial United Methodist Church, Oberlin.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII.
Ben was a pigeon fancier and enjoyed farming and collecting and selling antiques.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley G. Renshaw Housman; son, Ben G. Jr. and wife Anita Housman of Londonderry Township; daughter, Cindy L. wife of Del Gundy of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Katie Mae and Trystan Housman, Taylor and Bryan Gundy.
A tribute to his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown.
Burial with military honors will be in the Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin.
A viewing will be from 6-8:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
