Robert, age 83, of Palm Desert, Ca. passed away in Palm Desert. He was born to Sidney Phillips and Dorothy Puccini in Fresno, Ca.
He married Maureen Curtis on July 27, 1947, in Fresno, Ca.
He was an insurance executive for Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company for seven years and founder of Freestanding Ralph Lauren Polo stores for nine years. He was a consummate entrepreneur.
He was a member of Mensa, and Oakland Hills Country Club.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1945 as a PFC.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Chelsea Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Phillips of Palm Desert, Ca.; daughter, Linda Johnson of Del Mar, Ca.; sons, Robert Phillips, Jr. of Granite Bay, Ca., and Michael Phillips of Park City, Ut.; and eight grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 'L' Street in Fresno, Ca. on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. The family suggests donations be made to any Veteran's Organization.
