Mrs. Church, wife of Rev. E.P. Church, died at their home in this city at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening. Funeral occurs today at 2 o'clock at the M.E. Church. Mrs. Church has been sick for some time and her death was not unlooked for. She was a lady widely known and universally loved by all her acquaintances and there will be many mourners on account of her demise. (October 5, 1893- The Journal (North Manchester Newspaper)

She was the only daughter of James and Eliza Douglas and was born in Ontario, Richland County, Ohio, October 7, 1837. In her 17th year, she was married to Jackson Zimmerman, who died in May 1880 and on September 1, 1881 she was united in marriage to Rev. E.P. Church. She was the mother of 2 sons by her first husband, both of whom live in California. 4 brothers also survive her. Her funeral occurred October 5, at the M.E. Church and the sermon was preached by Rev. C.W. Lynch presiding elder of the district to a large congregation. (October 12, 1893- The Journal (North Manchester Newspaper)
