Surviving are two daughters, Melanie Tipton and Bridget Tipton; her parents, Frederick "Jim" Beckman; her mother, Dolores "Dee" (John) Koehler; one sister, Deborah Lux; and one brother, Randy Beckman.
She worked as a special education teacher at Dunlap High School as well as a day care teacher at Rogy's Learning Place on Candletree Drive in Peoria, last working in 2007.
