SARAH FOWLER DAYBELL WINTERTON

Sarah Jessie Fowler was born to John Fowers and Elizabeth Baird Fowers. She married John William Daybell on January 16, 1901 at Salt Lake City, Utah.

After her husband died she married Hyrum Shurtliff Winterton 2nd on November 25, 1952. They live at 743 S. 7th E., Salt Lake City, Utah. The following obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News:

"Mrs. Jessie Daybell Winterton, 83, 743 7th East, died of natural causes Wednesday, 2:30 p. m. at her home. Born January 18, 1881, Charleston, Wasatch County, to John and Elizabeth Baird Fowers.

Married to John William Daybell, Jan. 16, 1901, Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He died Feb. 26, 1948. Married to Hyrum So Winterton November 25, 1952, Salt Lake LDS Temple. Member, First LDS Ward.

Survivors: husband; sons, daughters, Grant Jo Daybell, Magna; Earl F. Daybell. Mrs. S. Po (Gladys) Shurtleff, both Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. L. W. (Grace) Flint, Salt Lake City: Mrs. Horace (Blanche) Cherrington, Walnut Creek, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren; brother, sisters, Alfred J. Fowers, Albany, N.Y.; Mrs. Elizabeth A. Phillips, Mrs. Mary Dangerfield, both Provo.

Mrs. Jesse Daybell WInterton will celebrate her 80th birthday anniversary Sunday at a family gathering at the home of a daughter, Mrs. L. W. Flint, 2771-2090 East.

Mrs. Winterton was born January 18, 1881, Charleston, Wasatch Co., a daughter of John and Elizabeth B. Fwers, She was married to John William Daybell January 16, 1901, in the Salt LAke Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He died February 26, 1948.

She later married Hyrum S. Winterton, November 25, 1952. They reside at 743-7th East.

SHE IS THE mother of seven sons and daughters, five of whom are still living. They are Earl F. Daybell and Mrs. S. P. (Gladys) Shurtleff, both of Oakland, Calif.; Grant J. Daybell, Magna; Mrs. L. W. (Grace) Flint, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. H. C. (Blanche) Cherrington. Walnut Creek, Calif. She also has 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
