Norman F. Schema, age 87, of St. Nazianz, died at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Norman was born in the Town of Schleswig, son of the late Louis and Katherine (Koening) Schema.
On June 5, 1948 he married the former Hattie E. Muehlbauer at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel. Norman enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, spending time with family. He could fix anything that was broken. He was a member of Holy Name Society and an usher at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Norman was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa who will be sadly missed by everyone.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Hattie Schema, St. Nazianz; their children and their families, daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Paul Woelfel, Chilton and their children, Vickie and Jackie Woelfel; son, Jerome Schema, Newton, his daughters, Glenda Alvarez and Heather (special friend, Andrew LeFebre) Schema and her son, Michael Nachtwey; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Nancy Schema, Manitowoc, their daughter, Lindsay (Scott) Fabry, their daughter, Ella Fabry, and their other daughter, Stacy (Christopher) Ehlers; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Fay Schema, Elkhart Lake and their children, Ryan Schema, Jennifer (Adam) Post and David Schema; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Mike Mueller, Whitelaw and their children, Amanda (fiancé, Ryan Staudinger) Mueller, Kyle (fiancée, Cassie Simonis) Mueller and Lucas Mueller; two sisters, Dolores Jelinek, rural Kiel, and Catherine Muehlbauer, St. Nazianz; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Schema, rural Kiel and Elvera Reseburg, Fond du Lac; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, John Ruppel, CA and Walter and Cecilia Muehlbauer, CA.
He was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Francis and Joseph Schema; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Schema; a son-in-law, Thomas Stueber, Sr.; a grandson, Thomas Stueber, Jr.; a brother, Aaron Schema; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Evelyn Ruppel, Elton Jelinek, and Norbert Muehlbauer; five brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Arnold, Frank (Agatha), Joe (Gertrude), John (Rita) Muehlbauer, and Ray Stemper; and three sisters-in-law, Anita (Lambert) Schneider, Lana (Ervin) Reseburg and Leona (Nicholas) Junk.
Funeral service were heldSeptember 9, 2009 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Michael Bigley with burial to follow at St. Gregory Catholic Church Cemetery.
