John, his children and brother Clint and his wife and child traveled to White Sulphur Springs in a wagon along with a string of horses. Along the way they got mired down crossing the little big horn river, and a group of Crow natives helped them get across. They arrived in White Sulphur on the 4th of July in the 1896. John and Clint both settled there along with their father at a later date. John cut and sold firewood to earn enough money to buy some land and built his home along the Smith river. I am John's Great Grandson and passing this on as a verbal historical account per Fay Fuller ,Brother Clint's granddaughter.
