Born, an only child to Cornelius Bray Riggs & Ruth Hastings. She was a long time faithful member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and Eastern Star.
She married CWO4 Hobart Martin Criger (USN) on December 3rd, 1941. Together Ruth Alice Riggs Criger & Hobart Martin Criger had 4 children (all boys): Paul Martin Criger, Michael Ray Criger, David Michael Criger, and Roy Wayne Criger, two grand children: Melody Ann Criger and David Michael Criger Jr., and 4 great-grand children: Megan Daisy Criger, Mikayla Marie Criger, Dylan Michael Criger, and Brennan Chase Criger, and 1 great, great grand child: Mason Ryder Criger.
