....................Sarah Eliza Paddison....................
The angel of death hovered once again in the vicinity, taking from our midst a beloved one in the person of Miss Sarah Eliza Paddison, youngest daughter of the Late James and Sarah Paddison. She was in her 73 yr and born in Weston in 1852. She later moved with her parents to
Caledon East, thence to the third line of Tossorontio, and from there to Sunnidale.
Here, she took up residence with her brother the late Thomas Edward Paddison, who was bereft of his wife, leaving him with a family of five small children. She sacrificed her life to raising up this family where she remained until three years ago, when she came to Allandale and made her home with her niece, Mrs. W.J. Bates, 246 Bradford Street.
In religion, she was a Methodist, and during her life, she made a large circle of friends..The high esteem in which she was held was shown by the many floral tributes.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday May 26 from the residence of W.J. Bates, to the Union Cemetery. Rev. S.M. Beach officiating at the home and grave.
