Oval Anice Somsel, 66, 653 Washington Avenue, died Thursday at 2:5 p.m. in Clinton County Hospital of a cerebral hemmorhage after being stricken earlier Thursday morning in her home.

She was born August 16, 1888, in Michigan Township, the daughter of John and Ida (Layton) Goodnight. On October 27, 1906, she was married to Jacob E. Somsel, who survives.

Until that time, she had lived in Michigantown. The late Mrs. Somsel then moved to Frankfort where she has lived ever since.

Mrs. Somsel's great-great-grandfather, Christopher Gutrecht, came from Germany and served with George Washington at Valley Forge.

Surviving besides the widower are two daughters, Mrs. James R. (Martha) McGill of Frankfort and Mrs. Rush D. (Mildred) Billingsley of Lebanon; a brother George D. Goodnight of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Janet Lynne McGill of Frankfort, Mrs. Ernest Gore of Wanamaker, Indiana and Mary Helen Billingsley of San Francisco, California.

Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Intombment will be in Greenlawn Mausoleum.
