M/Sgt. Everest F. Waid was cremated and his ashes dropped from a F-94-A jet fighter over Mt. Rainier in Washington State. He married Marjorie Avis (Turner) Waid on 14 May 1932 in Kingston, Kitsap county, Washington. They had two children and he adopted Marjorie's son, Dale in 1943.


He joined the 11th Bombardment Squadron, Army Air Corps in 28 August 1928 at Rockwell Field, San Diego.


From 17-20 January 1932 they 11th dropped over 43,000 pounds of food to snowbound Indian's in Northern Arizona and New Mexico. He was proud to be part of this operation which was awarded the Mackay Trophy for "Notable Aerial Achievement".


He made Master Sergeant in 1940.


He was stationed at Wheeler Field, Hawaii on 7 December 1941 and was in Saipan 1944-45 during World War Two.

He was stationed at McChord AFBase, Washington and was on vacation in California at the time of his death.


His military medals: Army/Air Corps Commendation; Good Conduct w/7 clasp's; American Defense with one bronze star; American Campaign; Asiatic Pacific Campaign with two bronze starts; World War Two Victory; and the National Defense Medal.
