April 24, 1956 Huronite and Daily Plainsman, Huron SD - C.S.Whittemore, Willow Lake, Dies - Willow Lake- Clarence S. Whittemore, 82 of Willow Lake, died at his home at 4 a.m today, Tuesday. His death followed an illness of several months. Funeral arrangements had not been completed Tuesday morning. The body is at the Ellsworth Funeral Home, Estelline.
He was born in New York and moved to Willow Lake as a small boy, and South Dakota had since been his home. He was married Sept 16, 1897 to Emma Rice in Estelline. To this union , one son was born.
The Whittemores resided in Huron about 2 years before moving to Willow Lake a year ago.
Surving are the widow and one son, Clifford Whittemore of Willow Lake.
