Omer Allen "Al" Acuff, 79, of Fairview, passed away at his residence Saturday (Sept. 5, 2009).Al was born July 3, 1930, in Dundalk, MD, son of the late Omer and Kate Acuff. Al was retired from Pepsi Corp., where he worked many years as a route salesman. He also worked a short time for Applied Industries. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict, and he was a member of the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Kay (Lowe) Acuff; three children, Danny & wife, Debbie Acuff of Summersville, SC, Steve Acuff of Lexington, SC, and Crystal & husband, Jack Murphy of Jane Lew; a sister, Agnes Wells of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Cheryl & Dwight Conaway and their daughter Amber Conaway; and three grandchildren, Marin, Bryn and Jacob Acuff. Family and friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, Curry Chapel, Fairview, from 1 to 8 p.m. today. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Evangelist Mark Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
