Alice V. "Polly" Wilson, 89, of Farmington, departed this life on Wednesday evening (Aug. 19, 2009) at the Pierpont Center, Fairmont. Alice was born Nov. 12, 1919, and is the daughter of the late James Russell Martin & Maud Mae (Nay) Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Earl Wilson; daughter, Judith Ann; and sister, Thelma Irene Varca. Surviving are sons, Don Wilson of Farmington, Earl Howard Wilson & wife, Shirley of Farmington; and daughter, Phyllis Ellison & husband, Billie of Elizabethtown, KY; four grandchildren, Earl Howard Wilson Jr. & wife, Doris, Tammie Lynn Bock & husband, Billy, Ann Rapier & husband, Anthony, and Christina Olcutt & husband, Nate; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Loraine Bassent of Idamay and Betty Moore of Loraine, OH. Alice worked as a lab technician for Westinghouse and loved quilting. Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St., Shinnston. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dorsey Funeral Home with Pastor John Pigott officiating. Burial will follow at the Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery, Lumberport.
