PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. — Mr. Harold N. Absher, 77, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15 at Pleasant Garden Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian, N.C., with the Rev. John Absher and the Rev. Daniel Absher officiating.

Mr. Absher was born on March 30, 1932 in Fork Ridge, Va. He attended Pleasant Garden Holiness Church and retired from Holiday Tours. He belonged to the Christian Motorcyclist Club. He was a veteran, having retired from the United States Air Force. Harold loved every kid he met and they loved him. He never met a stranger and told everyone he met that he loved Jesus.

Those that have gone on to heaven before him are his parents, Roy and Mary Green Absher;

grandchildren, Meghan A. and Bethany B. Fleming.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Kitty Wilson Absher;

daughter, Selena Lee Absher Fleming and husband D. Scott of Randleman;

son, the Rev. John Edward Absher and wife S. Milena of Plainfield, Ill.;

brothers, the Rev. Daniel Lee Absher and wife Shirley, the Rev. Arnold K. Absher and wife Rickie, both of Pleasant Garden, the Rev. Freeman Edward Absher and wife Joann (in heaven), Sidney Allen Absher (in heaven) and wife Jean of Virginia;

sisters, Freida Willien and husband Billy (in heaven), Lyla Osborne and husband Estel, Edith Gruer and husband Ed, Juanita Shephard and husband Bob (in heaven), Linda Hester and husband Junior, Guilda Sue Honaker and husband the Rev. Sammy, all of Pleasant Garden, Jacqueline Osborne and husband Alvin of Liberty;

grandchildren, Tabitha A. Fleming and Tyler C. Fleming;

and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, September 14, at Forbis and Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel.
