Mrs. Hilley was born in Banks County, March 1, 1910, a daughter of the late Charlie Sheridan and Artie Shannon Sheridan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Franklin Springs Baptist Church. She was twice married, first to the late Lloyd Thomas Hill and second to the late Marvin Hilley.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Fred (Ann) Hendrix and Mrs. Donnie (Martha) McKern, both of Canon, Ga., Ms. Margie Horne, Athens, Mrs. Boyce (Dorothy) Fowler, Mrs. Oravle (Mary Donna) Carey, Mrs. Douglas (Brenda) Lunsford and Ms. Betty Bond, all of Royston, Ga.; sons, Mr. Floyd C. Hill, Eden, N.C., and Mr. Billy Hill, Douglasville, Ga.; brother, Tilton Sheridan, Commerce, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Doris Crumbley, Nicholson, Ga.; 31 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hilley was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Elton Bond and Billy Horne; daughters-in-law, Imogene Hill and Pauline Hill; grandchildren, Linda Hill and Jeffrey Carey; great-grandson, Jess Carey; and great-great-grandson, Tyler Reeder.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hilley will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at the Chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Osteen and the Rev. Clint Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers and grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:30 until 9 p.m. Monday. The family is at their respective homes.
