WALLACE --Floyd "Bussie" Trusty, 80, longtime resident of the Wallace community, died June 26, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was born Dec. 1, 1916, near Wallace to Homer and Myrtle Eckloff Trusty. He grew up at Wallace and graduated from Wallace High School in 1936. On Sep. 20, 1940, he married Esther Harms at Oberlin, KS. They lived in Grainton where he operated a gas station and drove a school bus. Mr. Trusty joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served juring WWII in Germany. The family moved to the Trusty family farm southwest of Wallace in 1952. They moved into Wallace in 1977, but he remained active with his farmwork. He was a member of the Wallace United Methodist Church, the Wallace American Legion and a past member of the Ogallala Elks Club. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing and bowling. Surviving him is his wife; two daughters, Linda (Ardie) Morrow of Layton, Utah, and Diane (Jim) Bonesteel of Cozad; a son, Jim (Karma) of Wallace; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, LaVern Schneider and Hazel Voelinger; and a daughter-in-law, Lori Peterson of Lamar, CO. He wa preceded in death by a son, Russ, in 1995. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wallace United Methodist Church with pastor Delano Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Wallace Cemetery with a military tribute by the Wallace American Legion. Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is in charge of arrangements.
