Dona Belle Sheckells Reinagle, 93, Alton, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at 1:20 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Jan. 6, 1916, in McKee, Ky., she was the daughter of the late James Summers and Mary Ann Cole.
She was a sorghum maker and restaurant manager/owner for many years and a member of Beechwood Bible Holiness Church in Leavenworth.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Reinagle; a son, Richard Sheckells; a grandson, Roy Smith; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include five children, Priscilla Ruth Smith, John Sheckells, Rachel Phyllis Saltsgaver and Abraham E. Sheckells, all of Leavenworth, and Clara L. Mattingly of Alton; a brother, Dooley Summers of Taylorsville, Ill.; a sister, Edith Atwood of Leavenworth; 24 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Thursday, Sept. 10, at Beechwood Bible Holiness Church with burial in East Cemetery near Alton.
Officiant: The Rev. Joey Pyle.
Arrangements: Dillman-Green Funeral Home in Marengo.
