Albert Lucian Mercier was born on April 30, 1923 in Hattiesburg, Forrest, Mississippi. During WW II, Albert Lucian served in the United States Navy as a Morse Code operator. While attending Saint Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri, at a Webster College dance, Albert met his future wife, Bonnie Lee McCracken. Albert Lucian Mercier and Bonnie Lee McCracken married on April 7, 1948 at St. Mary Cathedral, Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1949, Albert attended Spring Hill College, Mobile, Alabama. Albert had dreams of becoming a lawyer. After owning a gas station, Albert settled in as an accountant for Boeing Aircraft, Houston, Texas. Born to the couple were three daughters and three sons. Albert, Bonnie and their children were active members of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Houston, Texas. Albert was a kindhearted person who worked hard for his family. Albert enjoyed fishing, playing cards, cooking, yard work, watching Friday night boxing, Perry Mason and the Miss America Pageant. Albert L. Mercier died on November 4, 1991. At the time of his death, Albert was living with his mother, Ella Mae McGinley Mercier, at 115 Bay Oaks Drive, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Albert Lucian died of cardiopulmonary arrest associated with diabetes. About a year before his death, he had one leg amputated, below the knee.
