CBM Urry was both a WW1 and a WW2 Navy veteran. He joined the US Navy on December of 1912. During his tour of duty he served on the USS Texas, USS New Jersey, USS Kentucky, USS Opher, USS Hartford and the USS Rochester. He retired as a Chief Boatswain Mate in March of 1943, but was then called back to service in December of 1943 and promoted to the Officer corps as a Lt (jg), in charge of the Nimitz Recreational Field in the 14th Naval District (Hawaii). He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct medal, the Mexican Service medal, the Expert Rifleman's medal, the World War 1 Victory medal, the World War II Victory medal, the American Defense Service medal, the American Theater Campaign medal, and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal.
