An Arkansas State Police spokesman said Carter was killed when his northbound Chevrolet pickup truck overturned on Arkansas Highway 77 near Bondsville after he failed to negotiate a curve.
Carter is survived by his daughter, Pam Neal of West Ridge, a son, Danny Carter of West Ridge, AR; his mother, Mrs Virgie Carter of Lepanto, AR, three sisters: Mrs Imogene Smith and Mrs. Francine Stacks, both of Jacksonville, AR; and Mrs Gertrude Hunt of North Little Rock, AR; seven brothers: Emmitt Carter of Heber Springs, AR; Dr. O.C. Carter of Hardinsburg, KY; Billy Carter of Shreveport, LA; and Teddy White, Otto Carter, Bo Carter and Phillip Carter all of Lepanto, AR; and one granddaughter. Carter was an Arkansas native and a farmer and was of the Baptist belief.
