"Services held For Willcox Pioneer.
Willcox. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Willcox Chapel for George Benjamin Allen, grandfather of television cowboy Rex Allen.
The pioneer Willcox homesteader had lived in Phoenix for the past five years and died in a Phoenix hospital.
Born in Texas in August 1877, he came here in 1915 and homesteaded on Ash Creek north of Willcox about 40 miles. Later he lived in Willcox. His wife died several years ago.
Surviving are six children, Mrs. Flora Scott of San Diego, Mrs. Velma Glenn of Willcox, Mrs. Alma Day of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Cora Hancock of Phoenix, Horace Allen of Benson and Miss Delphie Allen of Wenitopac, Nevada.
Interment was in Sunset cemetery here, directed by Willcox Funeral Home. The services were conducted by Rev. Marvin Davis of the Methodist Church."
