W. Carnice Jennings Groves, daughter of William Herbert Jennings and Rebecca Ann Jennings Jennings.
She was a graduate of Winthrop College, president of the St. Andrew's Exchange Club Auxiliary,member of the board of directors of the Charleston YWCA,served on the board of directors of the Charleston Chapter of the National Foundation of the March of Dimes, the Soroptimist Club and held several offices with the local and state chapters of the Federation of Women's Club. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Rebecca Motte Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Carolina Art Association, the Charleston Country Club, the Charleston Preservation Society, and St. Andrews Parish Episcopal Church.
Surviving are her mother of Charleston; a daughter, Mrs. John M.(Yvonne) Gilreath of Frankfort, Germany; a sister,Mrs.Hal (Marie)Massey of Daytona Beach; a brother, James B. Jennings of Orlando; and two grand children: Denise "Dee" Groves Gilreath and Yvonne "Vonie" Allston Gilreath.
