Addie Fontenot Spell (08-05-2008)

Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Fontenot Spell, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings, with Rev. Anthony Fontenot officiating.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a rosary at 7 p.m., until time of services on Wednesday.
Mrs. Spell died at 9:35 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at Jeff Davis Living Center.
Born in Iota to Amar and Celistima McDaniel LeJeune, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking gumbo, family get-togethers, music, dancing and the color red. Most of all, she loved to sing and pray.
Survivors include her son, Ira Fontenot and his wife, Dorothy (Guidry), of Iowa; three daughters, Doris Fontenot Deshotel and her husband, Druce A., of Andrus Cove, Edna Fontenot Faul and her husband, Mervin, of Lacassine and Anita Sue Fontenot Gatte and her husband, Durel "Red", of Gotts Cove; a daughter-in-law, Mary Fontenot; four step-children, Raymond, Bobby, Earl and Shirley Spell; one brother, Chester LeJeune; 20 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 56 great great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Wilson Fontenot Sr. and Walter Spell; her son, Wilson Fontenot Jr.; her sister, Allie LeJeune LaCombe; two grandsons, Ferran Faul and Patrick Fontenot; one half-brother; Louis Wilson Lejeune; three sisters; Eva, Ava & Clevenia Lejeune,
Pallbearers will be Terry Faul, Ricky Fontenot, Tim Gatte, Mitch Fontenot, Norman Fontenot and Kyler Gatte.
Honorary pallbearer will be Braydie Gatte.
