BILOXI --- Alonzo S. Westbrook Jr., 86, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, in Biloxi.

Mr. Westbrook attended schools in Jackson and graduated from Jackson Central High in 1934. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and Jackson School of Law. He was Scoutmaster in Oxford and a member of the Federal Bar Association. He was a member of Administrative and Official Board and of First United Methodist Church in Biloxi. He was a member of the Judge Advocates Association and the Air Force Association. He was honored by the Harrison County Bar Association for outstanding service of 20 years as secretary/treasurer and was awarded a Lifetime Award Scholarship in his name.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kate Westbrook; and his parents, Alonzo S. Westbrook, Sr., and Marguerite Vancleave Westbrook.

Survivors include a son, Alonzo S. Westbrook III of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Leslie Marguerite Westbrook Frigerio of Easton, Md. and Sara Lynn Westbrook of Biloxi; six grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Rd. in Biloxi. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Gulfport, where friends may call two hours before service time. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson..

The family prefers memorials to First United Methodist Church, 2301 15th St., Gulfport, MS 39501, in honor of Mr. Westbrook.
