Dan married Stella in San Francisco on Feb.4, 1913. After moving to San Mateo ca. 1920, he operated a hair salon in a local department store. In later years, he kept horses at their little ranch in Woodside where hoseshows used to be held in the pasture. The property is now part of Runnymede Sculpture Farm. Dan was a member of the San Mateo County Mounted Patrol. The group led the 4th of July Parade in Redwood City on their beautiful steeds in silver mounted saddles.
The gravestone had a lovely round photo of him on horseback in the upper left corner, which has been stolen.
They had no children; my brother and I were like their grandchildren.
