Nelson was the son of Mark M. and Flora (Raymond) Shonyo. His birth certificate (found at www.familysearch.org) shows he was born in Charleston, Orleans County VT. His marriage license shows his birth town as East Charlestown, VT. This community is not an available option in FG.


He married Pearl in 1927 and cared for her for many years. Together they had twelve children: William, Fred, Richard, Larry, Terrence, Catherine, Donald, Audrey, Sheri, Del, Kelly, and Anita (who died at the age of three in a farm accident).


He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening. He worked as a lumberjack, was a shoe-shop worker, worked for New England Co-Op Electric Company and also as a plumber.


Siblings: Virginia Esther (Chagnon) Gray, Charles Delphius (Shonyo) and Aldora Emma (Chagnon) LeDuc.
