Alexander and Elizabeth (Cameron) Harvey had 4 sons and 3 daughters. Caroline was the youngest. She was educated at first Peacham Academy , and then at McIndoes Academy. While in McIndoes, her mother was a member of the Congregational church there. Caroline's future husband, Ephraim E. P. Abbott, is principal of the McIndoes Academy from 1863 to 1865 when he enters Andover Seminary to start his career as a Congregational Clergyman. They marry 8 weeks after his ordination, on June 30, 1868. Caroline, as the minister's wife makes their first home in Plainfield, NH.
