Kenneth H. Boring

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Forest Grove for Kenneth H. Boring, who died Sept. 28 at age 74.

Mr. Boring was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Lane County. He was a resident of the Portland area since 1941 when he enrolled for high school at the Laurelwood Academy in Gaston. He moved to Portland and later to Forest Grove in the mid-1940s. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he worked as a logger and log-truck driver. From 1952 to 1990, he owned and operated his own log truck, hauling timber throughout central and Western Oregon. In 1945, he married Ruth Doleman.

Surviving are his wife; son, Kent H. of Hillsboro; daughters, Susan Colburn of Palm Springs, Calif., and Jodie Schimke of Bellevue, Wash.; brother, Robert H. of Cottonwood, Ariz.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Private interment will be in the Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove. The family suggests remembrances to the Washington County Hospice or the Alzheimer's Research Alliance. Arrangements are by Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home.
