Age 88, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009. She was born on March 13, 1921 in Pewamo the daughter of Conrad and Mary (Ott) Werner. Mrs. Klein was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, loved to play bingo and cards, and enjoyed baking chocolate chip cookies. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Norman; son-in-law Bill Stajos. Surviving are her children, Lawrence (Rita) Klein of Portland, James (Jean) Klein of Portland, Jan Stajos of Dewitt, Thomas (Cathy) Klein of Portland and Colleen (Ron) Gladding of Portland; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Monica Bengel; sisters-in-law, Mary Klein and Eleanora Klein; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with Rev. Larry King presiding. The Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 pm Tuesday with a scriptural wake service being held at 8 pm that evening. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Parish Boiler Fund or to the Fr. Flohe Foundation in memory of Mrs. Marie Klein.
