Coby Ryan Hale, age 12, of Newcastle, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Dallas, Texas, due to an unexpected illness, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).

Coby was born on June 13, 1997, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the oldest of three children born to Sonny Lynne Hale and Tammie Lynn Petray Hale. Coby was a student at Newcastle Middle School and was going to be in the seventh grade this 2009-2010, school year.

He had been a member of the Middle School Band and had played the trombone. Like most boys his age, Coby loved the outdoors and loved playing sports. This past summer he played baseball on the Newcastle Racers 12 and under team for Coach Forrest Smith.

He is survived by his parents Sonny and Tammie Hale of Newcastle; brother, Tyler Hale, age 10; sister, Paige Hale, age 7; grandparents: Debbie and Lee Merideth of Newcastle and Mary Ann and David Petray of Somerset, Texas; great-grandmother, Martha Thompson of San Antonio, Texas; uncles, J. T. Hale of Lytle, Texas and Paul Petray of Somerset, Texas; an aunt, Daphne Orosco and husband Johnny of Robstown, Texas; four great aunts, Cindy Fuentes of San Antonio, Texas, Wanda Smith of Newcastle, Kim Baker of Chickasha and Robin and Harrel Weatherford of Brentwood, Calif.; three great uncles, Ronnie Urbanczyk and wife Terry of Spring Branch, Texas, Tim Urbanczyk and wife Joyce of San Antonio, Texas, James Petray of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous cousins throughout Texas and Oklahoma and also a host of loving friends, caring teachers and fellow students.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 24 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Officiating will be Rev. Chilles Hutchinson.

Pallbearers will be J.T. Hale, Paul Petray, Glen Washburn and Matt Fletcher.

Honorary bearers will be the Newcastle Racers 12 and under baseball team.

Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle. Memorials can be made in his name at the Bank of Verden in Newcastle, Okla.
