"Funeral Services for Claude Henry Walton, 36, who died Wednesday morning of a heart attack, will be held Thursday at 4pm at the First Baptist Church here. The Rev. L. D. Hull, pastor of the North Side Baptist Church, will be assisted by the pastor, Rev. Miles B. Hays, in conducting the service. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with Kinney Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Walton, a concrete and brick workman, employed by Lawrence Crider for the last 10 years, suffered a heart attack about 7pm Tuesday and was taken to the Stamford Sanitarium where he died Wednesday at 10:30am.
He had lived in Jones County since 1919, coming from Oklahoma. He was born in Rising Star November 11, 1911. He married Bessie Woodson at Stamford June 7, 1934.
Survivors include his wife and two sons, Claude Leon and Jerry Ellis Walton, Stamford; three brothers, Joe, B.W. and Herman Walton, all of Stamford, and two sisters, Mrs. Bill Herndon of Sweetwater and Mrs. J. Ray Jones of Wewoka, OK."
