Paul D. Hafer, 77, of 58 Harvest Moon Park, Linden, died Friday, August 31, 2001, in Sycamore Manor following an extended illness. He was married to the former Mary E. Best. They observed their 57th wedding anniversary on December 21, 2000. He had been employed as a real estate agent for Strout Reality, an insurance agent for Kemper Insurance and previously was a farmer. He was a member of the Pine Run U.M. Church and received an award from the Pennsylvania Sunday School Assoc. for over 50 years of teaching. He was also a member of the Salladasburg Chapter of Senior Citizens and enjoyed woodworking.
He was born in Linden on September 11, 1923, a son of Walter H. and Margaret E. (Roller) Hafer. Surviving in addition to his wife, a resident of Sycamore Manor, is one daughter of Williamsport; one sister, Doris DeRemer of Linden; two grandchildren of Williamsport. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 10:30 a.m. at the Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Avenue with Rev. Judith P. Hulslander, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Woodward Township Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
