She was one of the siblings born in Switzerland before the family came to the United States in 1883. The family settled near Farmer City, Illinois, and then moved to Livingston County, Illinois.
She was my grandfather's older sister. She was married to Elias Lare, and she was his second wife. Mr. Lare was buried in Convoy, Ohio and is laid to rest next to his first wife Grace, who died young, and left children behind.
Aunt Bertha was brought back to Illinois to be buried, when she died before her husband did.
Aunt Bertha married late in life, and she and her husband never had any children. Aunt Bertha rests in the Baehler family plot next to her parents and brother.
Rest well Aunt Bertha~
