A. Marvin Paxson, 87, of Quarryville, PA, died on Monday, September 21, 2009, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Virginia Webster Paxson. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage.

After working with his father on the family farm, Marvin had worked at Lukens Steel Co., Trojan Boat Co., and Penn Dairies. He retired from Plumber and Pipefitters, Local 520.

He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was also a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Quarryville, and attended Union Presbyterian Church, Kirkwood.

Marvin enjoyed spending time at his cabin on the Ottawa River in Quebec, Canada.

He was born in Kirkwood, son of the late Albert and Ruth Furniss Paxson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, John, husband of Brenda Paxson of Mountville; daughters, Sally Nicholls of Conestoga, Sue, wife of Dane Nicodemus of Conestoga, Joanne, wife of Gary Latham of Nottingham; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mary Hogg and Laura Gamble.

The Funeral Service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. The burial will be in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 AM. (Lancaster Newspapers, 9/22/2009)
