Pearl E. Adams, 93, of Ironton, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

The Lawrence County native was born Sept. 24, 1915, the daughter of the late Orestes and Rosa Bell Vance Zimmerman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Adams, who passed away Feb. 11, 1973.

Mrs. Adams was a graduate of Windsor High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Ironton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Carl David Adams and Danny Adams; two brothers, Roy Zimmerman and Carl Zimmerman; and a sister, Pauline Zimmerman Welch.

She is survived by two nieces, Rosalee Loudon and her husband, Harry, of Coyners, Ga., and Vivian Walker and her husband, Jimmy, of Greenfield; and a nephew, Larry Zimmerman, of Lawrence County; a special friend, Jewell Hackworth and her husband, David, of Ironton; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Parsley officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4338 13th St., Ashland, Ky. 41101.
