Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Born-Wikoff Funeral Home, Atwood, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Hammond Cemetery, Hammond.
Mrs. Sykes was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Truro, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Mary Patterson Phillips. She was a member of Hammond United Methodist Church, Hammond Senior Citizens Organization, Sunshine Girls Club, a former Piatt County 4-H leader and a former Sunday school teacher. She married James E. Sykes on June 21, 1942, in Reno, Nev.
Surviving are her husband; daughters, Mrs. Albert "Butch" (Sherlyn) Fisher of Hammond; Mrs. John (Rhonda) Burcham of St. Joseph; Mrs. Mike (Darla) Mendenhall of Mount Zion; brother, Robert Phillips of Winterset, Iowa; Marvin "Shay" Phillips of Truro, Iowa; three grandsons; one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
