Richard L. Moore 84, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in a local hospital. Mr. Moore was born and raised in Leesville, La. He lived most of his life in the Lake Charles area. He worked at Cities Service and Cit-Con for 50 years. Mr. Moore proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded two purple hearts. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Moore; one brother, Randolph Moore and grandson, Dr. Eric D. Moore. Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Ophia M. Moore; one son, Richard D. Moore and wife Debbie of Plano, Tx and one granddaughter, Lindsay Minier and husband Paul of Richmond, Tx. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Friday, July 3, 2009 at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville with the Rev. Edgar Evans. Burial followed in the Leesville Cemetery.
