BASTROP — Funeral Mass for LB Kasberg, 83, of Bastrop, formally of Temple will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ascension Catholic Church in Bastrop.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop.

Mr. Kasberg died Tuesday, September 22, at his residence.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. today at the church.

Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop is in charge of arrangements.

L.B. Kasberg, 83, passed away September 22, 2009. He was a devoted loving husband, father and grandfather. His warmth, wit and playful spirit will be missed by all.
L.B. was born August 6, 1926 to Hubert and Annie Kasberg. L.B. is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anna Kasberg; his daughter, Linda Waxman; son-in-law, Michael Waxman; two granddaughters, Anna Rose and Molly Waxman; one sister, Hulda Frey of Robinson, Texas; one niece, Betty Wasserman and husband Lloyd Wasserman of College Station, Texas; two nephews, James Frey and wife Ruth of Hallettsville, Robert (Bobby) Frey and wife Judy of Dallas, TX.
L.B. graduated from Rosebud High School in 1943. He went to work for Bruce Lumber Co. In 1944, he joined the U.S. Merchant Marine Service and discharged in 1946. He returned to Bruce Lumber to work with his good friend, Leroy Baca. In 1949, he married Anna Lois Bartek and moved to Temple. He started work for Milstead Plumbing and Heating Supplies. In 1977, he received the distinguished salesman award. After 32 years he retired and had full time work with his greyhound dogs.
He loved life and took great pleasure in his family, friends and dogs. He will be missed every day. Visitation Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 at Ascension Catholic Church in Bastrop from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Services Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at Ascension Catholic Church, Bastrop at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers family requests memorials to Vista Hospice.
